California
The Second Race (Arcadia, CA)  The Second Race was created by Sharla Sanders for groups andindividuals to actively NETWORK to assist with the placement of horses in new homes, in particular ex-race horses. Whether Thoroughbred, Quarter Horse, Standardbred, or Arabian all race horses deserve another chance at a "Second Race" throughout the US and Canada.

Saving Horses, Inc. (Alpine, CA)  Rescue horses from slaughter, abuse and neglect, rescuing horses mostly at auction to save them from the kill buyer, and rescuing directly off the Kill buyer;s feedlot. The horses include but are not limited to OTTBs. Horses are rehabilitated and re homed where possible. We also have sanctuary horses.

Heart of the Redwoods Horse Rescue (Cutten, CA)  Heart of the Redwoods Horse Rescue (HRHR) is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit corporation that rescues with our mission of "promotes responsible horse ownership through education, community outreach and assistance."

Redwings Horse Sanctuary (Lockwood, CA)  The mission of Redwings Horse Sanctuary is to eliminate the causes of equine suffering through education and community outreach programs, rescue abused and neglected equines, and provide permanent sanctuary or selected foster homes for those equines.

Hearts With Hooves, Inc. (Norco, CA) is a non-profit therapeutic equine assisted riding program that encourages individuals of all ages with special needs to develop their full potential. We strive to create a unique environment where individuals can have the freedom to develop knowledge, trust, hope, and determination.

Second Chance Stables, Inc. (Phelan, CA)  We are dedicated to rehabilitating and retraining retired Thoroughbreds and Quarter horses  off the track and finding them new homes.

Neigh Savers Foundation, Inc. (Walnut Creek, CA)  Neigh Savers creates new beginnings for retired racing thoroughbreds. We rehab, retrain for new careers and rehome OTTB's.
 

Florida
Beauty's Haven Farm and Equine Rescue (Morriston, FL) We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization incorporated in the State of Florida.  Please take time to browse through our website and get to know us and the horses here. Our purpose is to help as many equine friends as possible when they are in need.  We network with other rescue organizations and individuals, and we work to educate others about horse slaughter in an effort to make it illegal -- not just in the United States but also in Canada, Mexico, and other countries.

H.O.R.S.E. Inc. (Mims, FL)  H.O.R.S.E. Inc. has been a Nonprofit 501 (c) Organization Since 2000 dedicated to providing shelter,care, rehabilitation,and adoption services for abused, neglected, abandoned horses. A mentor program for children aimed primarily at developing a humane attitude in children in the hope of teaching children how others/ horses, or people, can recover from abuse.
 

Georgia
Georgia Equine Rescue League (Bethlehem, GA)  Georgia Equine Rescue League, Ltd., (GERL) - A non-profit fundraising organization created in 1993 for the purpose of helping to end neglect and abuse of equine.  GERL has donated more than $330,000.00 towards the State of Georgia's Dept. of Agriculture Equine program and also helps support law enforcement with equine abuse cases.
 

Crosswinds Equine Rescue (Sidell, IL)  CWER is a 501c3 nonprofit IL charity, one of only 3 registered animal rescues, class equine, in the state. We focus upon taking in owner surrenders, rehabilitating, retraining and rehoming horses in need. All of our horses receive professional training, and we work hard to find the right career to fit the horse, THEN the right family -- which dramatically increases the likelihood of a permanent home. Every dollar donated goes directly to the horses -- we pay no salaries, not even for training outside clients' horses. We are located 1.5 hours from Indianapolis, 2.5 from Chicago, 3.5 from St Louis, and adopt to owners all over the US.
 

Kentucky
Our Mims Retirement Haven (Paris, KY)  Our Mims was the 1977 Eclipse Champion 3-Year-Old Filly. Running in the Calumet colors of devil's red and blue, she won 5 of 18 races, including the G1 Coaching Club American Oaks, the Alabama, and the Delaware Handicap. In memory of the great mare and her dear friend, Jeanne Mirabito created the Our Mims Retirement Haven so other mares will be cared for once their broodmare careers are over.
 

North Dakota
Triple H Miniature Horse Rescue (Mandan, ND) HHH Miniature Horse Rescue is a not-for-profit 501 c(3) charity that is dedicated to rescue efforts, care, nurturing and rehabilitation of miniature equine. Through the charitable efforts of our volunteers and our community, we strive to provide help, hope and loving life-long homes to  miniature equine that have been seized, surrendered or suffered gross abuse and neglect.

Pennsylvania
Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue (Glenville, PA)  Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue, Inc is a 501c3 non profit organization dedicated to saving horses bound for slaughter for human consumption. We also assist in cases of abuse, neglect and abandonment.

Cozee Valee Rescue & Sanctuary, Inc. (Huntingdon, PA)  We rescue farm animals, mainly horses & ponies from abuse, neglect, starvation and abandonment. We also assist with rescuing and placing slaughter bound horses. We feel that education is a very vital part of what we do and we would like to extend that to all areas of our community. Texas
Lucky Duck Horse & Farm Animal Rescue (Greenville, TX) is a 501c3 non-profit organization located in Greenville, TX.  We provide shelter, care, rehabilitation and adoption services for horses and other farm animals, including birds. We are funded solely by donations, fundraising and adoption fees, and we ask for your support by sending money, volunteering, adopting or simply by spreading the word about our effort.

Throwaway Ponies (Rockwall, TX) Provides a safe haven for horses who might be abused, neglected or possibly euthanized because of their age or physical condition. We also provide equine assisted therapy to women and children who have been physically, emotionally or sexually abused in order to build self confidence, self- esteem and physical strength.
 

Virginia
Central Virginia Horse Rescue, Inc. (Broadnax, CA) is a 501(c)3 small rescue located in south central Virginia and dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of needy horses. The rescue serves south central, central and Southside Virginia. CVHR is proud to have achieved Verified status by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries. GFAS holds their sanctuaries to the highest possible standards of animal care.

Washington
Kindred Spirits Equine Rescue (Addy, WA)  Kindred Spirits provides Rescue, Rehabilitation and Rehoming to displaced, abandoned and abused horses. Kindred Spirits also offers a gelding program, emergency help in the community to feed horses, help with vet bills and horse owner education.
